There are 3 trees in this pot.  Grown from seeds planted in July 2007.

The tallest tree has started to bloom.

This species of mimosa is very sensitive to touch.  I put it outside in early summer, but the leaves started to crisp and fall off, so back into the house where it is much happier.

Outside of my office in the parking lot are many Mimosas.  I took several seed pods (look like pea pods but flatter).  Removed the seeds, pitched the ones that had tiny holes (from insects?) and soaked the good ones (they sink in water) for 48 hours.

Planted them in soil.

Less than a week, sprouts.

July 19, 2008 I have about 4 trees growing.  They are not nearly as sensitive as Mimosa #1
