Colors bayeaux colors

This service project for the WK Needleworkers Guild is due for A & S 2011

It'd be great if I could get it done before 12th night.

Catherine & I picked out the colors based on wool that she had already purchased for the Darkwood Tapestry.

Warrior on Front & Star on the Back         10-31-10 in progress

Finished up the embroidery.  Next step is to put it into a book cover.

12-9-10

I decided not to add anything to the warrior since he does take up most of the cover.

I had to do a lot of weaving before I came back to this project which is why it's been a month.  21 guard favors and 3 sets of trim for gifts to Her Royal Highness and trim for a household member Kern who will be squired in March...145" of trim for him.  So this project went on the backburner.  Should be ready by 12th Night!  Yay.

So I got the pattern figured out.   Here is the test cover I  made today. Need to add inkle for a closure.  Now to iron and cut out the linen.  book cover test
  1st fitting

Ok, it fits.  I may try to tighten it up just a tad more.  It has not been pressed which will help I expect in how it looks.  Over all I'm pleased with the results.

My hope is that someone a Squire or Knight will want this book to log his fights or A&S accomplishments.

I did sew it a bit smaller, not that is shows much in the photo.

All Done.

12-10-10

On 6-21-11 we presented the books to Their Majesties.  I carried my book along with 2 others.  When I gave my book to His Majesty Mark....he said..."Oh Wow Cool!  Can I have this one!"

I said yes and the Guild Minister said yes as well.  My heart was racing...it was so great to hear that of my work!

Duchess Lecicia also remarked on my book cover when it was passed along to her during show and tell at A & S Guild Meeting.
